EPC - ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is required by law as part of a European Directive.    The intention of the EPC is to demonstrate to potential purchasers and tenants the energy performance of a building.

An EPC is required when a building is constructed, sold or let.  There are some exemptions, details of which can be found in the Communities and Local Government guidance documents which can be found via our links page.

An EPC provides an Asset Rating for the building on a scale of A to G.  The certificate is valid for ten years unless significant changes are made to the building and/or HVAC system.

Accompanying the EPC is a recommendations report, which provides recommendations on improving the energy performance of the building and is divided up into payback periods.

Please contact us for more information and clarification that your building requires an Energy Performance Certificate.
